George Kerns, President & CEO
Fusepoint Managed Services

As President and CEO, George Kerns leads the company as Fusepoint continues to execute its aggressive growth strategy. With a highly-visible and proven track record in the managed services industry, he was formally the President and CEO of Digex, a provider of managed enterprise hosting services to companies with mission-critical applications. Digex was acquired by MCI in late 2003 and George left after leading the successful integration. Prior to Digex, George held senior management positions with other high-growth companies such as HarvardNet - a business DSL provider; Phase Forward - an ASP for the medical industry; and BBN/GTE Internetworking - one of the first full service Internet Service Providers. Before his Internet-based career path, George held a variety of other senior positions in the wireless and IT industries at EDS Personal Communications; Contel Cellular/GTE Mobile Communications; Accenture and Deloitte Consulting. George holds a BS degree in Mathematics from Furman University and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He served as a Director on Fusepoint’s Board before taking the leadership role and continues to do so. He is also a member of the Advisory Board at the Robert H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland.

David D. Croll, Managing General Partner

Mr. Croll received a BS in engineering with honors from Cornell University in 1970 and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the Harvard Business School in 1973. Mr. Croll joined TA Associates in 1976 and became the managing partner in charge of the Media/Communications Group. In 1986, this group and the funds it managed became separate from TA and Mr. Croll also became managing partner of M/C Partners and its affiliates. Mr. Croll focuses on targeting sectors for investment, fund management, making investment decisions, assisting with recruiting and communicating with investors. He has been involved with over 100 investments in the communications services spaces over the past 25 years and also serves as a Trustee of Cornell University, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts land conservation organization.

John Van Hooser, General Partner

Mr. Van Hooser received a B.A. in History, magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1989, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1994. Prior to joining M/C Partners in 2004, Mr. Van Hooser co-founded Telegraph Hill Communications Partners, a private equity firm focused on the media, communications services and information technology industries. From 1994 to 2003 he originated and managed communications and media related private equity investments for J.P. Morgan Capital. During this time, he actively participated in the formation of six companies and served as a director or active observer on 10 Boards of Directors including Affinity Internet, Columbia River Cellular, FrontierVison, Lightship Communications, and Utilicom Networks. Prior to business school, Mr. Van Hooser held positions as a Senior Financial Analyst in studio strategic planning at The Walt Disney Corporation and as an Associate Consultant as Bain & Company.

Dickson Au , Co-Founder of RoundHeaven Communications
(now Fusepoint Managed Services)

Dickson is the Co-founder of Fusepoint Inc. (formerly RoundHeaven Communications Inc.).  After studying economics at the University of British Columbia, he joined his family's group of companies, and for eight years was involved in its construction and real estate business.  He started out as a project manager, responsible for budgeting, contracts and hiring decisions on all trades.  He later moved to development, specializing in project finance and analysis.  He left the real estate business in 1998 to devote his full time managing investment portfolios for family and friends, focusing on banks, healthcare, high technology and retail companies.  The idea of starting a fully-managed hosting service provider in Canada came about in 1999, after a six-month research into the Information Technology market in North America.  He has since returned to his investment business, with a new emphasis on the energy and healthcare sectors.  

Cedric J. Packham, President and Managing Partner
Stratix Consulting

Cedric J. Packham is President and Managing Partner of Stratix Consulting, a Toronto-based IT consulting firm. Before establishing Stratix in 1996, Cedric successfully held senior corporate positions including SVP, Operations for Sprint Canada; SVP and Director, Information Services for ScotiaMcLeod; and VP, Information Services for Triathlon Leasing. Among his accomplishments, Cedric has earned a CIO of the Year award (1995) and a CIPA award in 1996. He holds an MA Classics from Trinity College, Dublin, and an MBA from the University of Toronto. Cedric was a member of the Salvation Army Ontario Central Advisory Board (1998-2004) and joined Fusepoint Inc. as a Director in 2004.
